The range of preserves sold through The Marshmallow Room Bakery are all made in-house, by hand in open pans and in small batches as we believe that cooking preserves that way produces a better flavour and texture. Preserving fruit and vegetables when they are in season for use throughout the year is a tradition that goes back for centuries, a tradition we are keeping.
Our preserves are made from fresh, naturally dried or fresh frozen ingredients that we source locally as much as possible, trying to support local farmers and growers, helping to cut back on food miles. We support farmers who do not use pesticides and who believe in sustainable agriculture. We add no colourings, flavourings or preservatives to our products. All of our jams contain pectin, some naturally present in the fruit we are using, others have the addition of an all natural apple pectin.
